For our Departement Power Electronics we are looking for a research staff member / PhD Student.

Due to its outstanding physical properties, the semiconductor material β-Ga2O3 has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of power converters. As part of current research activities at FBH, vertical transistor structures based on β-Ga2O3 have to be developed, fabricated and electrically characterized. In order to achieve this goal, important parameters in component design have to be defined already in the development phase. This requires the latest device simulation software. By comparing the experimentally verified performances of the processed transistor structures with the simulation results, continuous optimizations of the device design can be carried out along the process.

In order to carry out these activities, we are looking for a young scientist from the field of engineering, natural sciences or materials science with significant experience in semiconductor physics and in the use of simulation software

Candidates must have successfully completed their university education (master’s degree, diploma) in the field of physics, electrical engineering or materials science

Teamwork and committed, independent work as well as very good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written, are required. Appropriate German language skills are desired. There is also the possibility to pursue a PhD. The position can be filled immediately and is initially limited to two years.
